Kelly's 4, Roughriders 1 June 21, 2004
HADDONFIELD - The Roughriders dropped a 4-1 loss to Kelly’s Investment on Monday night, as the team continued its early season struggle producing runs. The visitors jumped out to an quick 3-0 lead in the top of first. Drew Perry (0-2) started and settled in after that to throw five innings of five-hit ball. He walked one and struck out four. The Roughs get another shot at Kelly's tomorrow night in Washington Township.
Kelly's 13, Roughriders 6 June 22, 2004
WASH. TWP - Kelly's Investment swept the home-and-home series versus the Roughs with a 13-6 victory. The trend of falling behind early continued as Kelly's jumped to a 5-1 first inning lead off of Tom Ford (0-1). Matt Johnson hit his first homer of the year in the second to make the score 5-2, but Kelly's then added two in the third and six in the sixth to pull away for good. The Roughs are now winless in their last four after starting the season with a win.
Roughriders 7, Camden County 2 June 23, 2004
BLACKWOOD - The Roughriders snapped a four game winless streak with a 7-2 win over host Camden County. Trailing 1-0, the Roughs took the lead for good in the second when Zach Stefka hit a two-run single scoring Jeff Pilling (single) and Dan Severino (walk). In the third, a Matt Longo single was followed by an RBI double by Pilling, increasing the lead to 3-1. More scoring came in the fourth when Ian Wallace doubled and Longo smacked a run scoring single. Mike Reagle (1-0) started and picked up his first TriCounty win, scattering six hits over five innings (4 BB, 4 K).
Roughriders 10, Kelly's 6 June 24, 2004
WASH. TWP - BJ Amorelli knocked in four runs and Mark Kraus provided three innings of relief as the Roughs defeated Kelly’s 10-6. The visitors jumped on Kelly’s for five runs in the top of the first as Amorelli and Rob Oryl each hit two-run singles. Back-to-back doubles by Bill Kohut and Matt Longo extended the lead to 6-2 in the second. In the fifth, Amorelli capped off his big night by driving in two insurance runs to extend the lead to 10-6. Kraus pitched three innings (4 H, 2 ER, 3 K) to pick up his first win of the season.
Roughriders 3, Hardenberg 1 June 25, 2004
HADDON TWP - The Roughriders won their third straight game, defeating previously unbeaten Hardenberg 3-1. Brian Spicer (2-0) started and allowed only a first inning run on one hit in five innings of work. The game winning rally started in the sixth with a leadoff walk to Steve Wyland. After a Matt Longo sacrifice, Jeff Pilling lined a triple just inside the the right field foul line to plate Wyland. BJ Amorelli then followed with a sacrifice fly to score Pilling. Zach Stefka worked the sixth for a hold and Mark Kraus picked up his first save of the season by pitching the seventh.
