HADDONFIELD - HADDONFIELD - John Tedeschi scored the winning run on a wild pitch in the sixth inning, as the Roughriders won their season opener over Cherry Hill 2-1. With the game tied 1-1, Tedeschi led off the sixth with a walk. A single by Drew Dark and walk to Jack Parkinson put Tedeschi at third, setting up the deciding run on a pitched ball to the backstop with two outs. The Roughs took an early 1-0 lead in their first at-bat. Leadoff hitter Kevin Lammers singled, stole second, advanced to third on a wild pitch, and scored on Tyler Easterday’s RBI groundout. Carter Fichter made that lead standup, pitching four perfect innings (7 K) before being relieved by winner Kurt Elmer (3 IP, 4 H, 1 ER, 3 BB, 1 K).
