Game 1 - Finals
PITMAN - John DiCostanzo pitched six innings of four-hit baseball as the Roughriders took Game One of the Carter Cup Finals. The Roughs got the jump on Cherry Hill/Pitman in the top of the first. Shane Daly scored on a wild pitch and Jake Swerdloff's RBI single scored Shea McKenna for a 2-0 lead. In the sixth, Danny Vazquez collected an RBI single to increase the lead to 3-0. Jackson Edelman pitched the seventh and notched the save. Game Two is scheduled for tomorrow night at Alcyon Park.

Game 2 - Finals
PITMAN - Cherry Hill/Pitman forced a Game Three by defeating the Roughriders 3-2. CHP scored two in the fifth and one in the sixth to erase a 1-0 Roughs' lead. That run came in the second, courtesy of an Andrew Brown RBI single. The Roughriders attempted to rally in the sixth, pulling to within 3-2 on Evan Carbon's fielder's choice RBI, but the team left the go-ahead runs on base to end the threat. Game Three is scheduled for 7pm tomorrow at Alcyon Park.

Game 3 - Finals
PITMAN - The Roughriders won their second straight Carter Cup, and third overall in the last four seasons, by defeating Cherry Hill/Pitman by a score of 13-4. The Roughs took the early lead by scoring two runs in the second, courtesy of an RBI single from Andrew Brown and sac fly from Shane Daly. In the third, they broke the game wide open. Two hits and five walks resulted in five runs and a commanding 7-0 lead. Dane Sarmartino cruised through four innings to earn the win (1 H, 2 ER 1 BB, 2 K). Sean Perkins had a bases clearing double in the sixth to cap off the scoring. Perkins finished 2-2 with four RBI. The win finished off an 8-3 march through the playoffs and an overall mark of 21-11 (.656).
