WASH. TWP - In one of the wildest games in team history,
the Roughriders scored four times in the final frame to post a dramatic 18-17 win over Conlin
Baseball. The Roughs started quickly, jumping to an 8-2 lead after an inning and a half,
highlighted by Ian Wallace's two-run homer. Conlin Baseball took the lead back with a nine-run
second, but the Roughs responded with three in the third to make it 11-11. Six more run by
Conlin looked to put the game away before the Roughs started their comeback. Jim Nastasi ripped
a two-run homer in the sixth to make 17-13 and Dave Vadurro eventually scored after doubling to
make it 17-14 as the game entered the last inning. Dan Severino doubled in Phil Arena (lead off single)
for the first run. When Nastasi reached on an error, Vadurro hit his third double of the
night to tie the game 17-17. Mike Cummings' third hit of the night would score Vadurro to give the
Roughs the lead for good. Mike Reilly pitched out of a bases loaded, no-out jam in the bottom
of the inning to earn the save. Severino picked up the win with 3.1 innings of relief work.
The teams combined for 35 runs and 32 hits in the six inning game.
