BELLMAWR - The Roughriders dropped a 7-5 decision to Bellmawr in the opening game of their Quarter Final playoff series. The Roughs opened the game with a quick 3-0 lead after a half inning, but quickly gave the lead back to Bellmawr after just two innings with some shoddy defensive play. Mike Cummings started and pitched better than his number indicated. Cummings threw a complete game, giving up seven hits and four earned runs (2 BB, 5 K). The Roughriders attempted to make a game of it in the sixth, trailing 6-3. Andrew Frangos (3-3, 2 RBI, R) singled and stole second. Rob Oryl's double scored Frangos to close the gap to two. Cummings, hitting for himself, then blasted a double to deep center to make it a one run game. But the Roughs stranded Cummings and went quietly in the seventh to trail the best-of-three series, 1-0. Tomorrow's game will be played in Haddonfield.
