SEMI FINALS

Game 1 - Semi Finals
BELLMAWR - Pat’s Steaks won Game One from the Roughriders by a score of 7-2, taking a 1-0 lead in this Semi Final playoff series. Phil Guinto’s two-out, RBI single scored Adriano Petrutz (single, 2 SB) from third base to tie the game 1-1 after one inning. Pat’s would tally runs in each of the next two innings off starter Derek Zaleski to build a 4-1 lead after four innings. The Roughriders best chance to make a comeback came in the fifth. Chris Bartell’s two-out single scored Mike McGee to make it 4-2, but the Roughriders left the tying runs at second and third to end the inning. Three runs in the seventh by Pat’s closed out the scoring. Game Two is tomorrow night in Bellmawr at 6pm.

Game 2 - Semi Finals
BELLMAWR - Pat’s Steaks eliminated the Roughriders and advanced to the TriCounty finals with a 4-2 win and sweep of this Semi Final playoff series. Trailing 1-0, the Roughriders tied the game in the top of the fourth with some help from Pat’s. Phil Guinto reached on an error to start the inning. After an out, Eric Juiani doubled to deep right to put runners at second and third. With two outs, Dan Snyder’s grounder was thrown away allowing Guinto to score and tie the game. Pat’s broke the tie off Mike Reagle (6 IP, 9 H, 4 ER, 2 BB, 5 K) in the bottom half and scored two more insurance runs in the fifth for a 4-1 lead. In the seventh, Snyder started the inning with a leadoff double and eventually score to make it 4-2. With the go-ahead run at the plate, Guinto flied out to deep left to end the contest. The Roughriders finished 2011 with an overall record of 16-12, doubling their win total from last season. The regular season title was the team’s fifth in franchise history.
