WEEK 5 Garton's 7, Roughriders 4 June 27, 2016 HADDONFIELD – The Roughriders could not shake off a sluggish start and lost to Garton’s by a score of 7-4. Garton’s scored three in top of the first and would add single tallies in the second and fourth to build a 5-0 lead. RBI singles from Alex Reinicker and John Tedeschi pulled the home team to within 5-3 in the fourth, and Adam Bartholomew’s solo homer with one out in the fifth made it 5-4. But Garton’s pushed across two insurance runs in the seventh to seal the victory. Nick Cavanaugh started and took the loss (4 IP, 5 H, 5 R, 3 ER, 3 BB, 1 K) while Drew Dark finished up in relief (3 IP, 4 H, 2 ER, 1 BB, 1K). The team takes an eight day hiatus for the Fourth of July holiday before returning to the field on July 6 versus Maple Shade.
