Roughriders Win Tri-Co Title

HADDONFIELD - Ted Frangos ripped a two-run, ground-rule double in the bottom
of the seventh inning Sunday to lift the Roughriders to a dramatic 6-5 victory over Dr. Connor
for the championship of the TriCounty League.
The Roughriders, which posted the league's best record during the regular season, won the
championship series 2-1.
Bill Kohut singled in the seventh for the Roughriders to start the comeback. George Lovett followed
with a grounder to second that was thrown away, allowing the runners to reach second and third. Then,
Frangos bounced the game-winning shot over the left field fence.
The Roughriders, which won its first ever TriCounty title, lost in the league final last year to
Hardenberg.
"It would've been an unsuccessful season if we didn't win it," said Frangos, a former Haddonfield
High School standout. "That was our goal."
