Deptford 5, Roughriders 4 June 7, 2005
DEPTFORD - The Roughriders lost their second straight game to open the season by a score of 5-4 to Deptford. Deptford jumped out to a 4-0 lead after four innings before the Roughs rallied in the fifth. Back-to-back hits by Dan Severino and Phil Arena setup Dave Vadurro’s RBI single to make the score 4-1. After a walk to Brett Young to load the bases, Jim Nastasi cleared the bases with a double to tie the game 4-4. However, Deptford would tally once with the eventual game winner in the bottom half of the fifth without a hit off Jon Kent (0-1). Drew Perry started at went four innings (4 H, 4 ER, 4 K) in a no-decision. Severino finished 2-3 and Nastasi went 2-3 with three RBI.
Roughriders 7, Camden 3 June 10, 2005
HADDONFIELD - The Roughriders posted their first win of the year by defeating Camden 7-3. Rob Schork recorded the win in his second start of the year, going five strong innings (3 H, 3 ER, 4 BB, 6 K). The Roughs' first three hitters, Matt Longo, Dan Severino, and Mike Carlino, led the way on offense. Longo went 2-2 with a walk, four RBI, and a run scored. Severino singled, tripled, scored two runs, and stole a base. Carlino went a perfect 3-3 with a stolen base and run scored. The Roughs banged out a season-high 11 hits on the evening.
