Roughriders 4, West Deptford 3 June 13, 2011
WEST DEPTFORD - The Roughriders defeated West Deptford 4-3 on Ryan Easterday’s walk-off, RBI single with two outs in the seventh. It was Easterday’s third hit of the game, and third RBI on the evening. Trailing 2-0 in the fourth, Easterday launched a two-run homer to dead center with Phil Guinto aboard to tie the game. Later in the inning, Adriano Petrutz’s two-out, RBI double scored Chris Bartell to give the Roughs their first lead. West Deptford would tie it in the sixth, only to see the Roughs win it in the seventh. With one out, Mike McGee and Eric Juliani started the rally with singles. After the second out and a walk to Guinto, Easterday delivered his game winner to left. Mike Reagle picked up his first win of the season in relief (2 IP, 2 H, 1 ER, 0 BB, 1 K). Dan Synder started and threw two-hit ball over five innings (2 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 5 K). Petrutz and Easterday both collected three hits apiece, all part of a 10-hit attack.
Golden Nugget 5, Roughriders 4 June 15, 2011
LINDENWOLD - The Roughriders rallied late, but it wasn’t enough as they dropped a 5-4 decision to Golden Nugget, the team’s first win of the year. Golden Nugget jumped to a 5-1 lead after five innings, with the Roughs’ lone run coming on a sac fly by Eric Juliani in the third. In the seventh, Adriano Petrutz and Mike McGee both reached on errors, and Juliani then slugged his first homer of the year to left to bring the Roughs to within 5-4. Chris Vonderschmidt walked and reached second with no outs, but the home team could not get the tying run across the plate. Juliani finished 2-2 and drove in all four runs. Petrutz went 2-4 including a double, two runs scored, and a stolen base.
Bellmawr 3, Roughriders 2 June 17, 2011
HADDONFIELD - An unearned run in the seventh inning proved to be the difference in a 3-2 loss to Bellmawr on Friday night. The one run contest was the third in row for the Roughriders, who dropped to 4-4 on the season. Andrew Frangos' RBI double scored Chris Bartell (2-2, 2B, BB) to give the home team a 2-0 lead after two innings, but Bellmawr struck for two of their own off starter Derek Zaleski in the third. Zaleski went five-plus innings, allowing eight hits and two earned runs. He walked none and struck out four. The game stay tied until the seventh, where three Roughrider errors proved too costly.
