WEEK 2

Roughriders 6, Golden Nugget 6 (6 innings) June 8, 2015
HADDONFIELD – The Roughriders gave up leads of 3-0 and 6-4, settling for a 6-6 tie with visting Golden Nugget. Matt Cassell doubled in one run and scored another to help the Roughs gain a 3-0 lead. Golden Nugget responded with a four-spot in the third off starter Kyle Gaff (3 IP, 2 H, 4 ER, 5 BB, 5 K) to take the lead back before the Roughs would tie it up in their half. Phil Guinto's leadoff single and Ryan Easterday's booming double off the fence in left put runners at second and third, allowing Alex Reinicker's sac fly to even the contest. The Roughs appeared to take the lead for good in the fourth by tallying twice, highlighted by Tyler Easterday's RBI single, but Golden Nugget tied the game yet again with two runs in the fifth in this back and forth affair. Ryan Easterday went 3-3, including a double and run scored while Tyler Easterday finished 2-4 with two RBI and a run scored. The game was called after six innings due to darkness.
Garton's 8, Roughriders 7 (8 innings) June 9, 2015
VINELAND – Mike Swietanski's grand slam in the seventh inning tied the game at 7-7, but Garton's pushed a run across in the bottom of the eighth inning with two outs to edge the Roughriders, 8-7. Garton's jumped out to 4-0 lead off starter Matt DeFrank (3+ IP, 4 H, 4 ER, 4 BB) and eventually built a 7-3 lead as the game entered the seventh. But walks to Mike Byrnes, Adam Bartholomew, and Phil Guinto setup the Swietanski slam which sent the game to extras. Garton's then scored the winning run off the Roughriders' fifth pitcher of the evening, Tyler Easterday, to secure the win. Bartholomew finished the night 1-2 with a triple, two walks, and two runs scored. Byrnes went 1-3 with an RBI, two walks, and a stolen base.

MOORESTOWN – Starter Nick Cavanaugh struck out nine Maple Shade hitters over five innings of work, but the home team scored once in the sixth, breaking a 3-3 tie, in the Roughriders' 4-3 loss. Trailing 3-1 in the sixth, Adam Bartholomew and Kyle Gaff stroked back-to-back singles to start a comeback. Mark DiArenzo's RBI single made it 3-2, and Matt Cassell followed with a sacrifice fly to tie the game 3-3. Maple Shade then used a hit batter and two hits to score the deciding run.
