WEEK 4

Bellmawr 11, Roughriders 8 June 20, 2016
HADDONFIELD - The Roughriders fell behind 8-2 after just three innings, and despite a comeback bid, eventually lost to Bellmawr by a score of 11-8. After Bellmawr tallied three more times in the fourth to make it 11-2, the Roughs answered with six runs in their half. Matt Williams had a bases loaded RBI single to start things, and Mike McLaughlin capped the inning with a bases loaded, two-run double. But the Roughs would leave the bases loaded that inning with the go-ahead run at the plate, and would not threaten the rest of the game. Alex Reinicker and Noah Clement shut down Bellmawr over the final four innings to keep the team within striking distance.
Roughriders at Garton's, PPD June 21, 2016
VINELAND - The game between the Roughriders and Garton's was postponed due to inclement weather. The game has been rescheduled for Sunday, July 17 in Vineland at 5pm.
Roughriders 9, Golden Nugget 2 (5 innings) June 23, 2016
HADDONFIELD- Sean Ilves recorded his first Roughrider victory and the offense scored nine runs in a rain-shortened 9-2 win over Golden Nugget. The Roughs scored six times in the third inning, highlighted by Mike Wade’s RBI single and an RBI triple from Mike Byrnes. Wade drove in two more in a three-run fourth inning and finished his night 3-3 (3 RBI, 2 SB). Ilves went three innings for the win (2 H, 2 ER, 2 BB, 3 K), while Eric Elmer helped out by closing out the contest (2 IP, 1 H, 0 ER, 2 BB, 1 K). The game was delayed nearly 20 minutes due to rain in the top of third inning resulting in a five inning game.
Roughriders 8, Excel One 7 June 24, 2016
HADDONFIELD- The Roughriders jumped out to a 5-1 lead through five innings, and held on for an exciting 8-7 win over defending champion Excel One on Friday night. Collin Fabio doubled home Drew Dark (leadoff walk) for a quick 1-0 in the top of the first. Three more runs in the third made it 4-0, and after John Tedeschi's lead off triple in the fifth and Dark's subsequent sac fly, the Roughs had a commanding 5-1 lead. Luke Westfield provided another quality start, pitching into the sixth inning (5.2 IP, 5 H, 5 R, 1 ER, 3 BB, 2 K) before exiting the game with the lead. But Excel would tally four unearned runs in the sixth, all with two outs, to pull within 6-5. Two insurance runs in the seventh proved invaluable to the Roughs as Excel pushed across two runs in bottom half, coming up just short in their comeback attempt. Brian Spicer earned the save, pitching out of a jam in the sixth and preserving the win the seventh (1.1 IP, 4 H, 2 ER, 2 BB). Fabio went 3-5 with two RBI and two doubles to lead the offense.
