Roughriders 12, Camden 5 June 23, 2003
HADDONFIELD - Dave Page’s RBI double snapped a 5-5 tie in the fourth, helping the Roughriders to a 12-5 victory over Camden. The home team would go on to score six more runs in the inning to close out the scoring. The Roughs had seen an early 5-1 lead evaporate before breaking the game open in the fourth. Matt Longo and Mike Carlino each had three hits to lead the offense. Drew Perry (1-0) earned his first victory of the year (5 IP, 6 H, 5 K).
Roughriders 6, Deptford 1 June 24, 2003
DEPTFORD - The Roughriders pounded out a season high 13 hits on Tuesday and Butch Magliaro threw five shutout innings, as the Roughs defeated Deptford 6-1. Magliaro (3-0) gave up just three hits, striking out two and walking one. Dan Severino, Matt Longo, BJ Amorelli (3 RBI), Mike Carlino, and Rob Oryl each had multiple hit games. Oryl had a team high three hits. The win improved the Roughrider record to a perfect 8-0-2.
Ott's 6, Roughriders 5 June 25, 2003
WASHINGTON TWP - The Roughriders suffered their first loss of the season, 6-5, to Ott's on Wednesday night. Ott's built a 5-1 lead through five innings before the Roughs mounted a comeback. Dan Severino started the rally with a walk. Back-to-back singles by Rob Oryl and Dave Page set the stage for Ian Wallace, who ripped a 1-0 pitch over the left field wall for a grand slam to the tie the game. However, Ott's would push a run across in the bottom of the seventh to win it. Severino, Page, and Wallace led the 11-hit attack with two hits apiece. The team's record now stands at 8-1-2.
R. Clemente 6, Roughriders 4 June 27, 2003
HADDONFIELD - The Roughriders dropped their second consecutive game and first at home, losing to Roberto Clemente 6-4. Clemente scored one in the first, three in the second, and two in the third to build a 6-1 lead. Mike Montanero turned in a solid relief effort, throwing five innings (5 H, 2 BB, 1 K) to keep the team in the game. BJ Amorelli, Matt Longo, and Phil Arena all drove in a run for the home squad.
