HADDONFIELD - The Roughriders swept their first round playoff series with a 4-2 win over ProTryouts on Tuesday night. Starter Rob Schork was in control from the start, dominating ProTryouts through the first four innings (0 H, 5 K). The Roughrider offense backed Schork by scoring three times in the third. Mike Carlino followed with a double of the base of the fence in left center to chase home Longo and Severino for a 3-0 lead. ProTryouts attempted to rally in the fifth by scoring two runs to pull within 3-2, but the Roughrider defense stepped up to preserve the lead. Wallace cut down the potential tying run at home plate on a relay to catcher Rob Oryl on the back end of a double steal for the final out in the fifth. In the seventh with a runner on, Mark Kraus made a running catch at the fence in left field for the second out of the inning. Dan McKenna (0 H, 3 K) pitched the final 2.1 innings for his second save in as many nights. Schork earned the win by yielding just one hit over 4.2 innings, striking out seven batters.
