SEMI-FINALS

Deptford 7, Roughriders 6 August 3, 2007
Game 1 - Semi-Finals
BELLMAWR - Deptford defeated the Roughriders 7-6 in the first game of their Semi-Final matchup. The Roughs opened the second with back-to-back doubles by Mike Carlino and Dave Vadurro to gain a 1-0 lead. RBIs from Paddy McNamara and Matt Longo made the score 4-0 after two innings. That score stood until Deptford rallied to score four times in the fifth and tie the score against starter Ryan McNamara (5.1 IP, 8 H, 6 R, 4 ER, 3 BB, 6 K). Carlino's second hit of the night plated Dave Vadurro to give the Roughs a 5-4 lead in the bottom half, but Deptford responded with three in the sixth to get the win. Game Two is scheduled for 5pm at Bellmawr.

Game 2 - Semi-Finals
BELLMAWR - Deptford erased a four run lead for the second consecutive night and beat the Roughriders 8-7 in extra innings, eliminating the Roughs from the 2007 playoffs. Trailing 3-1, the Roughriders scored three runs in the top of the third, highlighted by Mark Kraus' two-out, two-run single. Dave Vadurro then laced a bases clearing double to score Phil Arena (1-3, 3 R), Matt Longo (2-5, R), and Jim Nastasi (2-5, RBI, 2 R) in the fourth to increase the lead to 7-3. But Deptford came back again, scoring four times in the fifth to knot the game 7-7. The score remained tied until the bottom of the ninth, when Deptford put runners on the corners with no outs and singled in the winning run. Mike Cummings pitched eight-plus innings, striking out five and walking two. Vadurro finished 2-5 with three RBI and a stolen base.

-The two teams last met in the playoffs in 1991

-The Roughriders are now 0-2 in playoff series versus Deptford

-The Roughriders had won four straight playoff series dating back to last year. That is their longest streak since 1993-94
