West Deptford 11, Roughriders 4 June 25, 2007
HADDON TWP- The Roughriders were defeated by West Deptford, 11-4, on Monday evening. West Deptford jumped out to a 8-0 lead after four innings and cruised the rest of the way. The loss was the first for the Roughs in two weeks, after putting together a four-game unbeaten streak. Phil Arena had three hits and Mike Plakis went 2-3 in a losing effort. Ryan Smith (0-2) took the loss.
Roughriders 6, Lakeview CC 3 June 26, 2007
CHERRY HILL - The Roughriders belted out a season high 12 hits and Brian Spicer pitched the team's second complete game of the season in a 6-3 victory over league-leading Lakeview. With two outs in the first, Mike Cummings (2-4) delivered a two-run single scoring Phil Arena (2-4, 2 R) and Jim Nastasi (2-3, RBI) for a quick 2-0 lead. Mike Carlino then walked to setup Mark Kraus' RBI single which scored Cummings, and Carlino raced home on an error to make it 4-0. In the second, Phil Arena led off with a single and scored on Matt Longo's triple to left center. Nastasi followed with an infield single to score Longo and build the lead to 6-0. Spicer struck out four and allowed six hits to improve to 2-0 on the season.
Roughriders 6, Pat's Steaks 1 June 28, 2007
HADDON TWP - Mike Cummings won for the fourth time this season, striking out eight Pat's hitters, in the Roughriders' 6-1 victory. Cummings went seven innings, allowing one earned run on three hits. He walked none. The Roughs' offense went to work quickly for the second consecutive game, scoring five in the top of the first. Mike Plakis' two run single plated Matt Longo and Dave Vadurro for a 3-0 lead. Rob Oryl followed with his own two-run single scoring Mike Carlino and Plakis to complete the five-spot. The Roughs finish the month of June at 6-3-1 (14.5 points).
