Roughriders 14, Cherry Hill 3 July 16, 2007
CHERRY HILL - Mike Carlino homered twice and drove in five runs, helping the Roughriders score 14 runs in a road victory on Monday night. Carlino hit a three-run homer in the second and followed with a solo shot in the third. Jim Nastasi also hit a three-run homer in the second, his second of the year. Mike Cummings upped his record to 6-0, going six innings (4 H, 1 ER, 8 K). The 14 runs, all scored in the first three innings, were a season-high for the offense.
Roughriders 4, Bellmawr 1 July 17, 2007
BELLMAWR - Matt Longo went 4-4 with two runs scored and an RBI in a 4-1 win over host Bellmawr. Longo tripled and scored in the first, doubled and scored in the third, singled in Phil Arena in the fourth, and doubled in the seventh to cap off a perfect night. Mike Carlino doubled off the left field fence to drive in Mike Plakis for the fourth run in the sixth. Starter Brian Spicer (4-0) gave un an unearned run in the fifth, but was in command the entire contest. He gave up just three hits, striking out two and walking two. It was his second complete game of the season.
West Deptford 3, Roughriders 2 July 19, 2007
WEST DEPTFORD - The Roughriders had their nine game unbeaten streak snapped by West Deptford in a 3-2 loss. West Deptford jumped out to a 3-0 lead on starter Ryan McNamara (5 IP, 5 H, 3 R, 2 ER, 4 BB, 8 K) through four innings. Mike Cummings then started a rally with a leadoff walk in the fifth, and with two outs, Paddy McNamara sent a 2-2 pitch over the left field wall to make it 3-2. It was his first homerun of the season. The Roughriders would put runners in scoring position again in the fifth and sixth, but West Deptford was able to preserve the one run lead.
Roughriders 5, Conlin Baseball 3 July 20, 2007
HADDON TWP - The Roughriders moved into second place in the overall standings with a 5-3 win over Conlin Baseball. Mike Cummings put the home team out in front 2-0 in the first with a two-out single scoring Phil Arena (single) and Matt Longo (walk). Dave Vadurro's two-out single in the third scored Arena (double) to make it 3-0 and Cummings then tripled to left center to score Vadurro for a 4-0 lead. Rob Schork (2-0) earned his second consecutive win with a five-hit effort over six innings (3 BB, 8 K). Cummings pitched the seventh for his first save.
