Bellmawr 11, Roughriders 3 (10 innings) June 22, 2009
BELLMAWR - The Roughriders were defeated by Bellmawr, 11-3, in 10 innings here on Monday night. The Roughs fell behind 3-0 after just two innings before battling their way back into the game. A fielder's choice RBI by Chris Brooks plated Mike Carlino (leadoff double) with the first run and Rob Oryl's single scored Andrew Frangos to make it 3-2 after four innings. Jeremy Dilks led off the seventh with a double and scored on Adriano Petrutz's RBI single to send the game into extra innings. Mike Reagle pitched six sparkling innings in relief of starter Dan Diorio. Reagle gave up no runs and just four hits (2 BB, 3 K). Diorio went the first three innings (2 H 3 ER, 6 BB, 3 K). In the 10th, Bellmawr hit the Roughs with an eight-spot to seal the win.
Roughriders 6, West Deptford 5 June 23, 2009
WEST DEPTFORD - The Roughriders rallied with four runs in the sixth inning, highlighted by Mike Carlino's two-run homer, to defeat West Deptford 6-5 and snap a two game losing streak. Trailing 3-2 in the bottom of the sixth, Phil Arena doubled in Dan D'Orio and Paddy McNamara, who both walked, to give the Roughs the lead. Carlino then blasted his homer to dead center to give the Rough a 6-3 edge. West Deptford tallied two runs in the seventh, but Mike Cummings finished off his complete game effort for his third win of the season. Cummings struck out 12 and walked three. Carlino gave the Roughs a 1-0 lead when he singled in Chris Brooks in the bottom of the first. Carlino was at it again in fifth, giving the Roughs a 2-1 advantage when he singled in Brooks again. He finished 4-4 with four RBI. Brooks finished 2-2 with a walk and two stolen bases in addition to his two runs scored.
Roughriders 21, Lumber Kings 4 June 25, 2009
HADDONFIELD - The Roughriders banged out 18 hits and scored 21 runs, all part of a Thursday night victory over the Lumber Kings. Andrew Frangos hit a solo homer to start an six-run third inning, and Phil Arena ended it with a two-run homer that gave the Roughs an 8-2 lead. Brian Spicer benefited from the run support to pick up his first win of the season. Spicer went five innings, surrendering five hits and one earned run (2 BB, 9 K). Mike Carlino continued his hot week by driving in four more runs with two doubles. Frangos, Arena, Carlino, Mike Cummings, Dan Diorio, and Chris Brooks all had multiple hit games.
