WEEK 5

Roughriders 2, West Deptford 1 (8 innings) July 2, 2012
HADDONFIELD - Mike Wasienko scored the winning run on a wild pitch, part of a two-run, eighth inning rally, as the Roughriders edged West Deptford 2-1. After West Deptford took the lead in top of the extra frame, Matt Heinkel started the Roughrider comeback with a single to center. Wasienko’s perfect sacrifice bunt was legged into a hit, putting runners at first and second. After Lex Still sacrificed both runners to second and third, Dean Wilson was intentionally walked to load the bases. Alex Reinicker then tied the game with an RBI sac fly, which advanced all runners. Another intentional walk, this time to Phil Guinto, brought Sean Menickella to the plate with two outs. Wasienko then raced home with the game winner on a 0-1 pitch in the dirt that bounced away. The game was a pitcher’s duel from the start, as each team managed just two hits through seven scoreless innings. Mike Reagle went the first three innings (1 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 4 K) and Brian Rice the final five (3 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 3 K). Rice picked up his second win of the year.
