Cherry Hill 7, Roughriders 2 July 9, 2012
CHERRY HILL - The Roughriders were held to three hits and saw their four game win streak come to an end in a 7-2 defeat to league leading Cherry Hill. The Roughriders trailed 2-0 after three innings, but would get one back in the top of the fourth. Phil Guinto reached on an error and Eric Juliani followed with a single. Dan Snyder then sliced a two-out single down the line in right to score Guinto. However, Cherry Hill responded with four runs in the bottom of the fifth to put the game on ice. Mike Reagle took the loss, throwing five innings (5 H, 6 ER, 4 BB, 3 K).
Roughriders 6, Golden Nugget 1 July 11, 2012
LINDENWOLD - Brian Rice won for the third time this season as the Roughriders defeated Golden Nugget, 6-1. Rice threw six innings of two-hit ball, walking three and striking out three. The Roughs broke open a scoreless tie in the fourth when Rory McTear hit a run scoring single with two outs to plate Chris Vonderschmidt. Vonderschmidt started the rally with a single and advanced to second on Dan Snyder’s walk. Snyder would score on a wild pitch to make it 2-0 and Mike Wasienko’s infield single drove in McTear for a 3-0 lead. In the fifth, Vonderschmidt’s RBI single scored Phil Guinto for a 4-1 advantage. The Roughs added two more in the sixth on RBI from Dean Wilson and Alex Reinicker. McTear finished 3-3 on the evening with two runs scored and a stolen base to go along with his RBI.
Roughriders 5, Bellmawr 3 July 13, 2012
HADDONFIELD - Ryan Easterday hit a go-ahead, two-run homerun in the third inning, leading the Roughriders to a 5-3 win over Bellmawr. Trailing 3-1 in the third, Chris Vonderschmidt's fielder's choice scored Matt Heinkel to close the game to 3-2. Easterday then homered to deep left center with a man aboard to put the Roughs ahead to stay. In the sixth, Heinkel's two-out, RBI single scored Mike Wasienko who led off the inning with a standup triple. Dean Wilson earned his team leading fourth win of the year, pitching five innings. After giving up three in the first (1 ER), Wilson shut down Bellmawr the rest of the way, scattering six hits and striking out four. Easterday pitched a perfect sixth and seventh to earn his second save.
