Roughriders 2, Wash. Twp. Senators 1 July 27, 2016
HADDONFIELD – Drew Dark earned a complete game win and John Tedeschi hit a walk-off single in the Roughriders 2-1 victory here on Tuesday night, evening the series at 1-1. Dark went seven innings, allowing only five hits while striking out six Senator batters. The Roughs got the early lead when Tedeschi hit a sac fly to score Tyler Easterday (leadoff single) to make it 1-0 in the third. Dark made that lead standup until the sixth, when a solo homer tied the game at 1-1. In the seventh, Thomas Gosse lead off with a walk and was sacrificed to second by Easterday. Noah Clement's single advanced Gosse to third and setup Tedeschi, who delivered his game winner over a drawn in infield. Tedeschi earlier in the inning had gunned down the potential winning run at home plate with a strike from right field for the third out. Game Three is scheduled for Thursday evening in Washington Twp at 6pm.
Wash. Twp. Senators 3, Roughriders 1 July 29, 2016
WASH TWP – Starting pitcher Luke Westfield went the distance and drove in the team’s only run, but it wasn't enough as the Roughs were eliminated from the 2016 playoffs in a 3-1 defeat. Westfield allowed six hits and three earned runs in the complete game effort. He struck out three and walked three. Hitting for himself, Westfield's RBI single in the sixth pulled the visitors to within 3-1 as the game moved to the seventh. Back-to-back singles by Collin Fabio and Adam Bartholomew with two outs brought the winning run to the plate, but the Senators secured the final out and took the Quarter Final playoff series. Mike Byrnes finished 2-3, with a double and stolen base. The Roughriders out-hit the Senators 9-6 in the game, but failed to get the key hits at the pivotal moments.
Series Notes:

-This was the second playoff meeting between the two franchises. The Roughriders defeated the Senators back in 2013, sweeping a Quarter Final playoff series.

-The Roughriders win in Game 2 snapped a three game playoff losing streak that extended over three seasons.

-Starting pitchers Jon Cole, Drew Dark, and Luke Westfield all recorded complete games in the series. The last time that happened in a three game set was back in 2007. Mike Cummings, Rob Schork, and Brian Spicer did it in a series win over Washington Township.
