PITMAN - The Roughriders rallied with two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to beat Cherry Hill 6-5 and take Game One of their Semi Final playoff series. Trailing 5-4, Noah Clement started the inning with a single, followed by a Thomas Gosse’ walk. When Sean Burychka singled sharply to center, the bases were loaded. But an errant pickup attempt at third base sent Clement home with the tying run and Gosse’ with the winning run. Cherry Hill had assumed a 4-1 in the fifth inning before the Roughs mounted a comeback with a familiar cast. Consecutive singles by Clement and Gosse’ opened the inning before Burychka launched a three-run homer to knot the game at four. Cherry Hill would push across a run in the seventh to again take a 5-4 but would see that lead evaporate in the bottom of the inning. Drew Dark battled through six-plus innings (11 H, 5 ER, 0 BB, 1 K) for a no-decision while Zach Welsher earned the win in relief (.2 IP, 1 H). Game Two is scheduled for 7pm on Tuesday at Washington Lake Park.

July 30, 2019 Game 2 - Semi-Finals
WASHINGTON TWP - Cherry Hill forced a Game Three tomorrow night with a 2-0 shutout of the Roughriders. In a tight pitching duel, Cherry Hill got a two-out, two-run single in the bottom of the sixth scoring the only runs of the game. Andrew Ryback took the loss in a complete game effort. He surrendered just four hits, striking out three. The Roughriders hit several balls hard, but Cherry Hill came up with the big defensive plays to secure the win. Noah Clement collected three of the team’s six hits. Game Three will take place at Alcyon Park beginning at 7pm on Wednesday evening.

Cherry Hill 7, Roughriders 6
July 31, 2019 Game 3 - Semi-Finals
PITMAN - Cherry Hill plated three runs in the top of the seventh inning, defeating the Roughriders 7-6 and denying the team a third straight trip to the Finals. The game started with both teams scoring in the first. With Cherry Hill up 2-0, Noah Clement lead off by ripping the first pitch he saw for a double. Thomas Gosse’s single put runners at the corners for Sean Burychka, who crushed his second homer of the series to put the Roughs out in front 3-2. An eventual bases loaded walk to Zach Ringenwald later in the frame made it 4-2 after just an inning of play. The Roughriders tacked on more in the second, as Eric DiDomenico (RBI single) and Bauer Fichter (RBI double) delivered to increase the lead to 6-2. But Cherry Hill chipped away with a run in the third and another in the sixth to make it 6-4 before the ill-fated seventh. The Roughriders finished with an overall record of 18-6 in 2019, which included winning their seventh regular season title.
