Hardenberg 7, Roughriders 1 June 9, 2008
HADDON TWP - The Roughriders committed six errors, leading to four unearned Hardenberg runs in a 7-1 loss here on Monday. Ryan McNamara (0-2) started and went five innings (4 H, 5 R, 3 ER, 4 BB, 5 K). The Roughriders were held to only three hits and their lone run came on a sacrifice fly by Dave Vadurro in the fifth. The Roughriders meet Deptford tomorrow in Deptford.
Deptford 14, Roughriders 7 (6 innings) June 10, 2008
DEPTFORD - The Roughriders gave up a 10 spot in the second inning, leading to a 14-7 loss to Deptford. The Roughriders had jumped to a 4-0 lead after a half inning on RBIs by Mike Plakis (1-3, 2B, 2 RBI), Jeremy Clark (3-4, RBI, 3 R), and Andrew Frangos (2-3, RBI). The Roughriders banged out 15 hits to Deptford's 12, but left nine runners on base and committed another four errors in the contest.
Roughriders 3, West Deptford 0 June 12, 2008
WEST DEPTFORD - The Roughriders snapped their three game winless streak by shutting out West Deptford 3-0. The duo of Rob Schork and Brian Spicer combined on the shutout, allowing just a single hit. Schork (0 H, 5 BB, 2 K) started and left the game after the fourth with the game still scoreless. Spicer (3 IP, 1 H, 0 BB, 5 K) went the rest of the way and earned the win after the Roughs scored all three of their runs in the fifth. Mike Carlino delivered the big hit, a two-run single scoring Phil Arena and Steve Wyland (2-2, 2 BB, 3 SB). Dave Vadurro's sac fly scored Carlino for the final run.
Roughriders 5, Moorestown 3 June 13, 2008
HADDONFIELD - The Roughriders won consecutive games for the first time this season, defeating Moorestown 5-3. Mike Plakis forced in the first run with a bases loaded walk and then Mike Cummings delivered a single to score two more for a quick 3-0 lead. After Moorestown battled back to tie the game 3-3 after four innings, the Roughs would take the lead for good. Plakis' fielder's choice ground out with the bases loaded scored Phil Arena and Steve Wyland would also scored on an errant throw for the 5-3 lead. Cummings relieved starter Andrew Slifer (4+ IP, 5 H, 3 ER, 4 BB) in the fifth to earn the win. Cummings allowed no hits and struck out four.
