2012 Year In Review

WEEK 2

West Deptford 5, Roughriders 3 June 11, 2012
WEST DEPTFORD - West Deptford defeated the Roughriders by a score of 5-3 on Monday night. The Roughs fell behind early in the second inning, 3-0, and then watched starting pitcher Dan Snyder exit with an injury. Nick Cavanaugh made his Roughrider debut out of the bullpen by throwing 4.1 innings of solid relief, allowing two runs. He struck out four and walked three while giving up five hits. The team battled back to make it 4-2 in the fourth on an RBI double by Eric Juliani and a RBI single by Sean Menickella. Ryan Easterday’s RBI single in the fifth narrowed the margin to 4-3, but West Deptford matched that with an insurance run in the bottom half of the inning. The Roughs struck out a season high 14 times in the game.
Roughriders 1, Hardenberg 0 (8 innings) June 13, 2012
LINDENWOLD - The Roughriders pushed across a run in the bottom of the eighth inning to edge Hardenberg 1-0. It was the second 1-0 win for the team this year. The game featured outstanding starting pitching by both clubs. Mike Reagle allowed just three hits over six innings, striking out three and walking three in a no-decision. The Roughs managed just a single hit through seven innings (Phil Guinto) before ending the extra inning affair in the eighth. Lex Still singled to lead off the inning and was sacrificed to second by Alex Reinicker. After advancing to third on a wild pitch, Dean Wilson topped a ball up the first base line that stayed fair and scored Still with the winning run. Ryan Easterday pitched two innings (0 H, 4 K) to earn his first win. The Roughs close out the week in Bellmawr tomorrow night.
Bellmawr 1, Roughriders 0 June 14, 2012
BELLMAWR – Brian Rice threw a complete game, two-hitter but the bats continued to struggle offensively in a 1-0 loss to Bellmawr. Bellmawr's struck first with a solo HR in the second inning, but that was all Bellmawr would get as Rice struck out five and walked three in his second start of the year. The Roughrider offense managed just three singles and advance only two runners as far as second base. The game marked the third time in four contests that a game ended in a 1-0 score. Ryan Easterday collected two of the team's three hits. The Roughs returns to the diamond on Monday versus Cherry Hill West.
