Roughriders 15, Camden 0 July 21, 2003
HADDONFIELD – The Roughriders exploded for 15 runs on Monday night, their biggest output this season, in a 15-0 whitewash of Camden. Brian Spicer (2-3) earned the victory with a complete game five-hitter (1 BB, 5 K). Spicer, who had dropped his previous two starts despite pitching well, was the beneficiary of the 12-hit attack. Phil Arena had three hits (2 2B, 2 R), while Ian Wallace went 2-3 with a double and two runs scored. Mike Carlino hit a solo homer in the fifth, his first of the year.
Roughriders 8, Kepple's 1 July 22, 2003
CHERRY HILL – Dave Page had three hits and two RBI and Ian Wallace's two-run triple broke open the game in the second inning, allowing the Roughs to defeat Kepple's, 8-1. Butch Magliaro (4-1) started and went the distance, striking out a season high 10 batters. It was Magliaro's third complete game of the year. With the score tied at 1-1 in the second inning, Dan Severino and Page each singled, setting up the Wallace triple. In the fifth, Page again came through by singling in BJ Amorelli and Mike Montanero to give the team a 7-1 lead.
Roughriders 14, Camden 1 July 24 2003
CAMDEN – The Roughriders officially clinched the second seed in the playoffs by dumping Camden 14-1 on Thursday night. The win sets up a round one matchup versus Camden, with the opening game to be played at Haddonfield on Monday night. Mike Carlino again was the catalyst for the Roughriders, blasting a three-run home run in the top of the second, providing a 4-0 lead. The visitors would go on to score five more runs in the inning, building a 9-0 lead. Matt Longo chipped in with a 4-4 night and three runs scored. Tom Ford (3-0) picked up the win in his second start of the season, hurling five efficient innings (4 H, 2 K). The regular season concludes tomorrow versus Hardenberg at home.
Hardenberg 9, Roughriders 1 July 25, 2003
HADDONFIELD - The Roughriders dropped their final regular season game to Hardenberg, 9-1 on Friday night. Each team had their playoff seedings locked up yesterday (Hardenberg #1, Roughriders #2). A Dave Page walk, a double by Rob Oryl, and subsequent sacrifice fly by Ian Wallace provided the only Roughrider run on this night. The playoffs begin in earnest on Monday versus Camden.
