Bellmawr 4, Roughriders 2 July 9, 2008
BELLMAWR - The Roughriders were held hitless for the first six innings, then staged a late rally but fell short in a 4-2 loss to Bellmawr. Trailing 4-0 as the game entered the seventh, Andrew Frangos hit a leadoff double to end the no-hit bid. After a Mike Carlino walk and Dave Vadurro single, Mike Cummings hit a sac fly to make it 4-1. Mark Kraus' RBI groundout would score Carlino for the second run, but the Roughs left the tying run at the plate in losing their second straight game. Ryan McNamara went five innings, yielding five hits (2 ER, 3 BB, 6 K) to absorb the loss.
Roughriders 6, Lakeview 2 (6 innings) July 11, 2008
HADDONFIELD - The Roughriders ended their three game winless streak with a 6-2 win over visiting Lakeview. Mike Cummings beat Lakeview for the second time this season, throwing a complete game (5 H, 1 ER, 5 BB, 7 K). Mike Plakis, Andrew Frangos and Cummings all had first inning RBIs to build a 3-0 lead. With the score 3-2 in the sixth, the Roughriders put the game away with another three-spot. Steve Wyland singled in a run and Dave Vadurro drove in two more with a single to make it 6-2. Wyland finished 2-4 with an RBI and two runs. Jeremy Clark went 2-2 with a walk, run, and stolen base.
