| HADDONFIELD - Mike Shannon dominated Camden batters with a three-hit, complete game, leading the Roughriders to a 2-0 opening victory in their best-of-three Quarter Final matchup. The Roughs jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first with Jim Bruno scoring when Monny Strickland's infield single was thrown away, allowing Bruno to come around all the way from second. Jake Swerdloff's two-out, RBI double scored Eric Sabato (1-2, BB, RS) in the third for a 2-0 lead, which was more than enough for Shannon. The righthander punched out 11 and walked three in his first career playoff start. Game Two is scheduled for 6pm tomorrow night in Camden. | |

| CAMDEN - Matt Kennedy and Zach Welsher combined on a two-hitter as the Roughriders eliminated Camden 2-1 and advanced to the Semi Finals. Kennedy hurled four hitless innings (3 BB, 7 K) and Welsher earned his third save of the summer (3 IP, 2 H 1 ER, 4 K). The Roughs scored both runs in the second inning courtesy of Nate Johnson. Thomas Gosse' reached on an error and Danny Vazquez folowed with a single. After a HBP to Isaiah Ishmail, Johnson's single to left scored two for a 2-0 lead. With one out in the third, Camden loaded the bases on a walk, HBP, and error, but Kennedy pitched out of the jam by retiring the next two hitters by strikeout. Welsher allowed an earned run in the sixth, but set down Camden in order in the seventh to seal the win and series. The Roughriders will now face Titans Baseball, the three seed, in a best-of-three Semi Final beginning on Monday. Game time is 6:45pm at Washington Lake Park in Washington Township. | |
