TABERNACLE - In an exciting back and forth game, the Roughriders pushed two runs across in the top of the eight inning to defeat Pine Barrens 10-8 and secure Game One of this Quarter Final playoff series. Trailing 7-6 in the sixth, Shea McKenna reached on a dropped third strike with two outs to extend the inning. Danny Vazquez was then hit by a pitch setting up Eric Sabato, whose RBI double scored McKenna to tie it 7-7. Aaron Graeber's followed with an infield single scoring Vazquez to give the Roughriders the lead 8-7. But Pine Barrens scored a run in the seventh on a passed ball to send the game to extras. In the eighth, Vazquez walked, Sabato singled, and Graeber walked to load the bases with no outs. Ian Murphy walked to force in the go-ahead run and after an out, Shane Daly lifted a sacrifice fly to score Sabato and make it 10-8. Jack Murphy picked up the win with two innings of relief, which included retiring the side in order in the bottom of the eighth (0 H, 1 R, 1 BB, 1 K). Sabato finished 4-4 with two runs and an RBI. Ian Murphy had three RBI. Game Two is scheduled for tomorrow night at the Rechino Field Complex in Haddon Township.

HADDON TWP - The game between the Roughriders and the Pine Barrens was postponed due to field conditions. The game will be made up tomorrow at the Recchino Field Complex at 6:00pm.

July 26, 2023 Game 2 - Qtr Finals
HADDON TWP - The Roughriders scored four first inning runs and cruised to a 7-0 win over Pine Barrens, sweeping their Quarter Final playoff series. The Roughs scored those four runs without a hit, which included a walk, error, and three hit batters. The home team added one more in the second and two more in the third to close out the scoring. Starter Zach Welsher was the beneficiary of the early scoring. The righthander went five scoreless innings to go along with five strikeouts and two walks. He allowed just four hits. Evan Carbone and Shane Daly each had two hits. With the win, the Roughriders will take on the top seed Garton's in the Semi Final round beginning on Monday at Alcyon Park. Game time is 7:00pm.
